About

A four-phase consultation approach engaged over 1000 stakeholders across government, research institutions, industry and community to develop an understanding of the State's science, technology and research environment.

Phase 1

Workshops to identify priority areas and brainstorm an ambitious vision for the future. These were held in Perth and across the regions.

Phase 2

A survey conducted in this phase to verify priority areas and the vision as well as to ask targeted questions about goals. Public submissions was also available at this time.

Phase 3

Themed roundtables held across Perth and the regions to determine key actions to support the vision and goals of the Plan.

Phase 4

A draft Science and Technology Plan was circulated in early 2024 for feedback prior to finalisation.

Science and Technology

A strategic approach to science, technology, research and development, alongside new investment, is needed for Western Australia to meet current and future challenges. The 10-year Science and Technology Plan (the Plan) will address all elements of the science and technology ecosystem.
