Emeritus Professor David Groves
Emeritus Professor David Groves was inducted into the Western Australian (WA) Science Hall of Fame in 2026.
Emeritus Professor David Ian Groves is an economic geologist based at The University of Western Australia. His research has focused on mineral deposits and their formation, including gold and other ore systems, contributing to the scientific understanding of global metallogeny. He has held senior leadership roles within the scientific community, including President of the Geological Society of Australia and President of the Society of Economic Geologists. He has authored several hundred scientific publications. His work has been recognised through international awards, including the Penrose Gold Medal of the Society of Economic Geologists, and through his election as a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science.
