I don’t hold a student visa, but I am enrolled to commence my course at a Western Australian tertiary institution. Will I qualify for this payment?

Yes, you can apply for the Scholarship at any stage, even before you have your student visa. However, your Scholarship payment will not be processed until you have commenced your studies, confirmed your full-time enrolment as an international student at an eligible institution in Western Australia, and past census date.

My enrolled course is shorter than one year (less than two semesters). Can I still apply?

No, current eligibility criteria for this payment requires students to be studying in Western Australia for a minimum of one year (two semesters) or more.

What is the documentation I need to attach to avoid delays in the assessment of my application?

When submitting your application through SmartyGrants, you will be asked to attach key documents to verify your information. Details of these can be found in the Scholarship Guidelines. It is important you attach the correct documents in order to avoid delays in assessing your application as incorrect or missing documentation and/or information provided to DEED may render your application ineligible.

How many scholarships are available for the 2025-26 selection date?
