Rules apply to STRA advertisements to help make sure all STRA listings are clear, accurate and registered.

For accommodation providers

Ensure your STRA property is registered before advertising or accepting bookings and ensure that your registration number is conspicuously displayed in all advertisements.

For booking platforms

Verify that any STRA listing on your platform is compliant. Publishing a prohibited advertisement is an offence.

For advertising publications

Ensure all advertisements or promotions for STRA premises are compliant. Publishing a prohibited advertisement is an offence.

What constitutes a prohibited advertisement?

A prohibited advertisement for short-term rental accommodation is one that:

  • Relates to residential premises that are not registered.
  • Does not conspicuously display the registration number for the premises.
  • Contains a false registration number for the premises.
