DMPE is excited to be offering three Environmental Intern placements within the Resource and Environmental Compliance Division.

Requirements:

  • These placements are a minimum of 6 months, ending 30 June 2026.
  • Working an average of three days a week is expected, with flexibility for occasional days out of the office as needed.
  • Intern placements are paid engagements of $45/hr plus super.
  • Current enrolment in a relevant environmental science or related degree program. Students in their final year of study are preferred; however, all applications are considered.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.

What to expect:

  • Gain insights into environmental regulatory frameworks under the State’s resource legislation, ensuring sustainable development of Western Australia's mineral and energy resources.
  • Work alongside experienced environmental officers, participating in environmental impact assessments and learning techniques for environmental management and regulation.
  • Accompany experienced environmental inspectors in the field to understand how resource projects manage environmental risks.

This is a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in the environmental sector. You’ll be part of a dedicated team, developing your skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.
