Voluntary poultry housing – effective until 10 August 2026
With H5 bird flu now present in Australia, WA commercial poultry owners are recommended to take measures to increase their flock biosecurity, including considering voluntary housing of birds where practical and animal welfare can be maintained. This recommendation for voluntary housing by the WA Chief Veterinary Officer is currently in place until 10 August 2026.
Producers will be advised about the extension or lifting of this recommendation and it will be listed on this page and the voluntary housing page.
