The Home Building Regulatory Mapping Project was completed in September 2017. This project will assist action already underway by Government to provide for a clearer, more transparent regulatory framework to support home building in Western Australia.
This project was completed in collaboration with key government agencies, industry groups, and home builders.
This project has delivered:
- A regulatory process map (PDF) to assist aspiring home builders to understand and navigate the approval processes to build or renovate a single residential dwelling in Western Australia
- Practical recommendations to improve the approvals process for building or renovating a single residential home while retaining the necessary regulatory and environmental integrity to maintain design and build quality, and amenity of housing for occupants and neighbours.
- A project summary report (PDF) that gives an overview of the project and its outcomes.
