Licensed electricians in WA may apply for an exemption from holding an electrical contractor’s licence when carrying out residential electrical installing work for themselves or their immediate family, provided the work is not for commercial purposes and meets specific eligibility criteria.

Before you apply

1. Complete requirements

  • Provide proof of ownership (title deed, building contract or rates notice) of the property where the electrical installing work is to be carried out.

2. Complete application form

Print or digitally complete the relevant application form.
