Applications are now open for the STEM Engagement Sponsorship Program, administered by the Department of Energy and Economic Diversification.

In line with the Western Australian (WA) Government’s mission update, Future state, future skills: Accelerating STEM skills for Western Australia, the program aims to:

  • support initiatives that showcase emerging STEM career opportunities;
  • strengthen connections between industry and education providers; and
  • increase participation of currently under-represented groups in STEM, such as females, Aboriginal and Torress Strait Islander people and people from low socio-economic areas and/or regional or remote areas.

Applicants may apply for up to $30,000 to support initiatives that strengthen STEM participation, capability and community awareness.

Eligible applicants include not-for-profits, membership organisations and universities that are delivering informal STEM engagement activities or events.

The Program also seeks to promote STEM as a fulfilling career pathway and build STEM literacy and culture across WA.

Potential applicants are highly encouraged to read through the guidelines available on the STEM Engagement Sponsorship: Application Guidelines webpage.

Applications for the STEM Engagement Sponsorship are now open until 10am AWST, Tuesday 28 April 2026.
