Each year the AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award celebrates the essential role women play across regional Australia.

Women from each state and territory are celebrated for their exceptional contribution to their communities, now and into the future.

Broome-based lawyer Cara Peek was WA’s previous winner who was recognised for her work with the Indigenous community providing support, employment and training opportunities in the Kimberley region.

Winners from other state and territories included farmers, psychologists, marine biologists, and scientists and no formal qualifications are required to apply.

National and state finalists receive a $15,000 bursary to enable their continued support of a project, business or program that benefits the rural community.

Applications for the 2022 AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award close on Friday 8 October 2021.
