Call for Submissions for Social and Affordable Housing

The Department of Housing and Works is calling for expressions of interest from builders and developers to boost the supply and diversity of social and affordable housing across Western Australia.

The ‘Call for Submissions for Social and Affordable Housing’ (CFS-SAH) invites Submissions from private industry to help government deliver liveable and sustainable apartment and grouped dwelling residential developments in Perth and regional WA.

The Department will engage respondents in a variety of ways through the selection process, including (but not limited to) off-the-plan purchases or land acquisition and construction contracts.

The 2026-27 CFS-SAH will also consider proposals that transform uninhabitable properties into liveable homes, either through substantial renovations or by converting non-residential buildings into residential dwellings.

The Department is particularly interested in Submissions that:

  • demonstrate value for money, innovation and sustainable development initiatives
  • offer one and two-bedroom housing projects that are already development approved with a builder ready to construct homes.

Submissions must align with the Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF) Round 3 Guidelines.

The Department of Housing and Works is accepting Submissions until 28 January 2027.
