Chris McMahon appointed Commissioner of State Revenue

Finance is pleased to announce that Chris McMahon has been appointed as Commissioner of State Revenue.

The Commissioner is responsible for the fair and efficient administration of revenue laws and grant and subsidy schemes for the Western Australian community.

Chris has worked in revenue and grant administration for more than 25 years. He has been acting in the role for the past 12 months and been a core member of our Corporate Executive.   

He is passionate about delivering accountable and transparent outcomes and helping customers understand the law. 
Chris has leveraged his expertise and customer centric approach to lead significant reforms and deliver digital services to increase efficiencies in revenue and grant administration.

Under Chris’ leadership, RevenueWA will continue to play a key role in administering the Government’s relief and recovery measures and increasing digitisation of services, while administering the application of grants, duties, mineral and petroleum royalties, land tax and payroll tax laws, and carrying out compliance audits and investigations.
