Speakers from the Office of Digital Government provided an overview of the year to date, as well as sharing information on examples of cyber threats and initiatives being used by DGov. This included a presentation of real-world cyber case studies and a demonstration of the Intrusion Detection System which is already being trialled in several WA government agencies.

Guest speakers from the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) and Microsoft Corporation covered topics such as a nation-wide overview of cyber security threats, the technical alignment between the Top 5 security controls, and how agencies can leverage their existing Microsoft tools to implement these controls.

The CIO Forum is an important part of DGov’s ongoing mission to improve cyber capability and maturity across the public sector through collaboration, knowledge sharing and building on strong partnerships within the WA sector.
