Construction is now complete at East Perth Common Ground, delivering 112 self-contained apartments along with communal areas, 24/7 on-site support services and commercial space.
The 17-storey building was constructed by ADCO Constructions to a high Livable Homes Standard, with the design informed by people with lived experience of homelessness, community housing providers and other key stakeholders.
The Common Ground model is based on a comprehensive Housing First approach that addresses both the immediate need for housing and the underlying issues that contribute to homelessness, helping individuals achieve stability and self-sufficiency.
Mission Australia has been contracted to provide individualised on-site support services to help tenants improve their wellbeing and sustain their tenancy. Mission Australia Housing was recently awarded the contract for property and tenancy management services and will be responsible for all property management functions, including receiving and reviewing applications for tenancy.
The first tenants are expected to move in from January 2026 and will be a phased approach.
This $70 million build was supported by an $8 million contribution from the Australian Government as part of the Perth City Deal Homelessness Housing Projects, a partnership between the Australian Government, Western Australian Government and the City of Perth.
