Planning is underway on a $15 million infrastructure upgrade and expansion package for Western Australia's emergency services.

Under the $5.5 billion WA Recovery Plan, some emergency services volunteers will share in a $13 million fund to upgrade facilities such as bushfire sheds and provide new amenities.

The new recovery package will also deliver new facilities to house emergency response vehicles and equipment.

Bushfire brigades, who fall under local governments, will also receive further assistance, with $2 million allocated for new water tanks.

Local businesses will carry out the work where possible, to drive economic and social recovery across the state.
