Over the past 18 months, Audrey, Bronte and Lakshmi balanced school, work and study while completing a Certificate II in Government and gaining practical experience across the Department.

Throughout the program, they made valuable contributions to their teams and demonstrated a strong commitment to learning and professional development.

All three trainees have now transitioned into employment with the Department.

The School Based Traineeship Program provides students with an opportunity to develop workplace skills, build confidence and gain experience in the public sector while completing their secondary education.

The program is part of the Department's commitment to developing future talent and creating meaningful career pathways for young people interested in contributing to the Western Australian public sector.
