The WA Government will provide free Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) to residents in WA’s regional and remote communities in the coming week at pop-up sites, without the need to register.

74,000 RATs will be provided to remote Aboriginal communities by local Aboriginal organisations such as the Ngaanyatjarra Council, Midwest Employment and Economic Development Aboriginal Corporation (MEEDAC) and Yulella Aboriginal Corporations, as well as the Department of Communities and local Members of Parliament.

For remote communities in the Pilbara, RATs will be distributed by Mawarnkarra Health Service, Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Service and Wirraka Maya Health Service, the Department of Communities in cooperation with the Pilbara Aboriginal Health Alliance, and local Members of Parliament.

Residents in remote communities will receive a total of 20 RATs per household. This is more than the 15 tests available to other households around the State due to the distance from services and access to postage.

A full list of locations for remote and regional communities is available on the public pop-up site page.
