The State’s building regulator is hosting free information sessions throughout regional WA in March and April to update building industry professionals on the National Construction Code (NCC) and other topics of interest.
Staff from the Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety’s Building and Energy division will be on hand at events in Northam, Albany, Broome, Karratha, Geraldton, Esperance, Busselton and Bunbury.
Speakers will discuss the current NCC – Australia’s primary set of technical design and construction provisions for buildings – and changes in the forthcoming 2025 edition including WA-specific variations.
Building Commissioner Phil Payne said the events would be of interest to builders, building surveyors, building engineers, designers, architects and local government building department staff.
“One of Building and Energy’s key roles as a regulator is to provide information and education to help empower the industries we regulate,” Mr Payne said.
“These sessions are a great way to learn about significant changes that will affect the industry. Participants will also be able to share information and ask questions about particular areas of interest.”
Registration is essential via the Building and Energy website event listings.
