The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation is calling for public feedback on a revised strategy that will continue to guide Western Australia’s transition towards a sustainable, low-waste future.

The Beyond WAste 2030 Strategy and Roadmap has been released for public consultation, giving the community an opportunity to provide input into the State’s waste management.

Beyond WAste 2030 outlines the key priorities for moving towards a sustainable future powered by a circular economy where communities, economy and environment thrive.

It also provides a snapshot of the State’s progress against existing targets, highlights strengths and opportunities and identifies areas for improvement.

The draft has been developed as part of the five-year review of the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Strategy 2030.

The consultation period will be open until 16 December 2025 and all Western Australians are encouraged to have a say on the future of waste, recycling and circular economy initiatives.

Public feedback will help finalise the strategy and roadmap, which is expected to be published by mid-2026.
