The Perth Casino Royal Commission is requesting information from the public, former and current Crown Casino employees and government employees about improper conduct related to gambling and associated activities at the Crown Casino Perth.

The Perth Casino Royal Commission is encouraging contact from any person who wishes to provide information about improper conduct related to gambling and associated activities at the Crown Casino Perth.

As part of the inquiry phase of the Perth Casino Royal Commission (PCRC), the PCRC is keen to engage with stakeholders of the Crown Casino Perth to gather information to assist the PCRC's deliberations.  Stakeholders include but are not limited to:

  • patrons and their families;
  • current and former Crown Casino Perth employees;
  • current and former Government employees.

The PCRC is required to inquire into, report and make any recommendations related to:

  • Crown's suitability to hold a casino gaming licence in Western Australia; and
  • the appropriateness of the regulatory framework.

Media reports have identified some areas of significant risk to casino operations and the broader community. These include allegations of:

  • money laundering;
  • infiltration by criminals;
  • problem gambling practices; and
  • gratuitous rewards programs.

If you have information about these allegations or any improper practices related to gambling at Crown Casino Perth, we would like to hear from you.

You may prefer to make a private submission. If so, we ask that you provide your contact details in the event that a PCRC officer wishes to talk to you to obtain further information. Your identity can be kept in strict confidence by the PCRC if you wish.

How will this information inform the work of the PCRC?  Information provided under this request will be considered by the PCRC alongside submissions from the general public and stakeholders and any other evidence received.

Am I required to provide this information to the PCRC?  The PCRC seeks your assistance and cooperation.  You are not required to provide any information.

Will the information provided be published?  The PCRC does not propose to publish the name of any person who provides information and wishes to remain anonymous, though it may publish aggregated data or general statements without attributing the source of the information.

When must the information be provided by?  Information should be provided no later than Monday, 2 August 2021. Please provide a contact email or telephone number so a PCRC officer can make contact with you.

Is this my only opportunity to have input? The PCRC must report to the Governor by mid November 2021, so there will be limited opportunities to provide information that can be considered before the PCRC issues its final report.
