The next 2 agencies to be reviewed by the Public Sector Commission as part of the ongoing Agency Capability Review Program have been announced.

The agencies are the:

  • Department of Justice
  • Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation.

These reviews start in April this year and will be completed by the end of 2025.

The review program delivers proactive, consistent, regular and comprehensive ‘health checks’ of the overall capability of the public sector.

Since it started as a trial in 2021, the program has reviewed 13 agencies, with another in its final stages.

Each review enables agency leaders to make evidence based decisions on where to focus their efforts to improve performance. It also enables information about what is working well in one department to be shared across the sector. All of this helps deliver better government services for Western Australians.

Each review is undertaken by an independent lead reviewer, with staff at all levels able to contribute and provide input into the review.
