The next 2 agencies to be reviewed by the Public Sector Commission as part of the Agency Capability Review Program have been announced.
The agencies are the:
- Department of Health starting in February 2026
- Department of the Premier and Cabinet starting in March 2026.
The review program delivers proactive, consistent, regular and comprehensive ‘health checks’ of the overall capability of the public sector.
Since it started as a trial in 2021, the program has reviewed 14 agencies, with another 2 in their final stages.
Each review enables agency leaders to make evidence based decisions on where to focus their efforts to improve performance. It also enables information about what is working well in one department to be shared across the sector. All of this helps deliver better government services for Western Australians.
Reviews are undertaken by an independent lead reviewer, with staff at all levels able to contribute and provide input.
