The $40 million centre on the Forrest Highway is a national pilot project offering training and
cultural healing opportunities to Indigenous people who have been involved in the criminal
justice system.

The project, which includes a tourism component, aims to help participants break
intergenerational cycles of trauma and avoid re-engagement in the criminal justice system.
The Commission is glad to have a role in realising this significant project that will make a
positive contribution to the State.

The Part 17 pathway will close to applications on 29 December 2023. To date, 31 significant
projects have been approved with a total value of $3.7 billion.
