Lauren Connolly, Manager Quality Services at Lotterywest, recently completed her first Propel topic ‘High performance and crucial conversations’. She says she learned a lot, developed some great new strategies and is already seeing a difference in her team.
“The great thing about Propel is you get started straight away. From day one we were working and learning about different leadership methods and methodologies,” Lauren says.
“We were given examples to bring back to our workplaces and put into practice with our teams.
And having tools we can access quickly takes away some of the mental stress.”
Propel is a 10 week leadership development program designed to help managers step up and lead with clarity and impact. All 3 topics – ‘High performance and crucial conversations’, ‘Culture and leadership’ and ‘Changes and strategies’ – are delivered virtually.
There are also small group sessions with experienced leadership coaches and space between workshops to give participants time to test and practice what they learn.
“I loved the online aspect. I could access the courses easily and the tutors were brilliant – they were so knowledgeable and eloquent,” Lauren shares.
Propel is also a great opportunity to network with other new leaders across the public sector.
“Everyone on the program is grappling with the same types of issues – we’re all in the same boat and can learn from each other.” Lauren says.
