Propel

A future focused leadership development program to shape managers into leaders.

Stepping into a leadership position for the first time is exciting – and it can also be challenging and difficult to navigate.

Propel is a 10-week virtual learning program to help new leaders meet these challenges by building capabilities and insights crucial for effective and dynamic leadership.

Subject matter experts facilitate virtual workshops while experienced leadership coaches run small group coaching sessions, with space between the workshops to give participants time to test and practice what they learn. Participants have access to leaders from across the sector, giving them opportunities to share, discuss and network to enhance their learning experiences.

Building Leadership Impact and Leadership Expectations are subject to specific copyright terms of use.

Propel is part of the Learning and Development Prospectus, an innovative suite of programs created specifically for WA public sector staff.

How is Propel delivered?

Propel is a microcredential program through the University of New South Wales where study topic credits can be stacked together towards a larger qualification.

Applicants select one of these topics:

  • Higher performance and crucial conversations
  • Culture and leadership
  • Changes and strategies.

For each completed 10-week topic, participants get 2 credit points (completing 3 topics generates 6 credit points). Participants who complete a course from the UNSW’s Australian Graduate School of Management get additional credit points. Participants who obtain 12 points will be awarded the UNSW’s Certificate of Executive Management and Development.

At the completion of each topic, participants receive a digital badge which formally verifies their achievement and can also be shared on professional platforms such as LinkedIn.

Who is Propel for?

Propel is for public sector employees with one to 3 years of people management experience. It gives them the capabilities and insights they need for a positive start to leading in the public sector.

What is the cost?

The cost of $941 covers all aspects of the 10 week virtual learning program for one topic including:

  • 5 online 60-minute interactive workshops
  • 5 online 60-minute small group coaching sessions
  • full access to a learning experience platform
  • full access to a variety of post webinar resources and tools.
