Public health advice issued for returned travellers from the Northern Territory

WA Health has issued new public health advice for recently returned travellers from the Northern Territory (NT).

Effective immediately, all passengers arriving into Western Australia from Northern Territory are required to:

  • travel to a suitable premises and get tested immediately (within 48 hours);
  • isolate at the suitable premises until they have received a negative result and;
  • wear a mask when transiting to suitable self-quarantine premises and when presenting for COVID-19 testing.

Any passenger who refuses to get tested will be required to self-isolate for 14 days.

Anyone who has been at the listed NT exposure venues on the dates and time specified are required to:

  • self-quarantine for 14 days from the date / time they last visited an exposure site at a suitable premises;
  • be tested immediately (within 48 hours) and again at day 11 and;
  • wear a mask when transiting to suitable self-quarantine premises and when presenting for COVID-19 testing.

Anyone from the Darwin and Katherine areas who did not visit the venues and has arrived from August 12 to 16 is advised to get tested if they develop any symptoms that may be related to COVID-19.
