Executive summary reports have been published for the reviews of the departments of Finance; Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries; and Planning, Lands and Heritage.

Each executive summary outlines the process undertaken in each review, its findings, lines of inquiry and areas of strength.

All staff and leadership from the 3 agencies are thanked for their commitment to and participation in the review.

The reviews are part of the 2 year trial of the Agency Capability Review Program, a proactive approach to agency and whole of sector improvement which helps to identify and address risks before problems occur.

The final 2 capability reviews of the trial – for the Department of Communities and the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development – are well underway.

Reviews provide important information to guide agencies’ continuous improvement activities, and agencies are required to include in their annual report the improvement activities undertaken in response to the review.
