Welcome to Allan Blagaich, New Chair of the Training Accreditation Council
The Training Accreditation Council (the Council) welcomes Mr Allan Blagaich as its new Chair, following his appointment by the Minister for Skills and TAFE for a five‑year term ending 31 March 2031.
Mr Blagaich brings extensive leadership and regulatory experience across education, training, quality assurance and governance at both State and national levels.
He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Catholic Education Queensland Ltd and works regularly from Western Australia. He served as Chief Executive Officer of the WA School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) from 2011 to 2023.
Mr Blagaich’s deep experience in VET includes leading the integration of training certification within the Western Australian Certificate of Education. He was also an Expert Panel member of the Commonwealth Government’s 2019 Review of the Australian Qualifications Framework, supporting reforms focused on modernisation, portability and cross‑sector alignment.
The Council extends its thanks to the outgoing Chairperson, Ms Anne Driscoll for her leadership over the past five years including her significant contribution to the implementation of the Registration Standards 2025 in Western Australia.
