Western Australian based surf park developer Aventuur - announced as the preferred proponent in September 2021 - can now progress to the next stage of plans to deliver a surf park development in Jandakot.

The surf park is set to become the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, and will include a range of other attractions including accommodation, restaurants, a health and wellness centre, leisure amenities, and conference and function facilities.

The project will create up to an estimated 260 jobs during planning and construction, and around 65 full-time equivalent positions once operational.

Aventuur will use Wavegarden Cove technology to provide a surfing experience that is authentic, high-quality and environmentally responsible.

The Jandakot site is well situated, adjacent to Cockburn Central train station and the Kwinana Freeway.

Subject to local planning and environmental approvals, the attraction is anticipated to be open for summer 2025.
