Help influence the quality of vocational education and training in Western Australia

You can contribute to the quality assurance of vocational education and training (VET) by becoming the Chairperson of the Training Accreditation Council (the Council).

The Minister for Skills and TAFE is looking for a person with effective leadership skills, strategic thinking abilities, knowledge and experience in governance, regulation and quality assurance to help influence the quality of VET throughout Western Australia.

If you have these skills, knowledge and experience, we would like to hear from you.

Under the Vocational Education and Training Act 1996, the Council is an independent statutory body that has a pivotal role in assuring the quality of training providers registered with the Council and the accreditation of courses in the VET sector in Western Australia. The Council operates within an agreed national VET regulatory framework defined in a set of standards, guidelines and policies.

The Council provides high level advice to the Minister for Skills and TAFE on matters relating to the quality of VET in Western Australia, so as to achieve the best opportunities and outcomes for West Australians engaging in VET.

The Chairperson of the Council is remunerated for their services (some exceptions on remuneration apply, please refer to the information package for further details).

The Cook Government is committed to increasing the representation of women on Government boards and committees and ensuring diversity in board and committee representation. All interested persons are encouraged to apply.
