Transmission Manufacturing in Western Australia: Industry Request for Information

News story
Western Australian industry representatives, businesses and organisations currently involved in, or interested in entering, transmission manufacturing supply chains are invited to submit feedback on local existing capability in transmission manufacturing.
Last updated:

The Western Australian (WA) Government has released the South West Interconnected System (SWIS) Transmission Plan, a strategic blueprint for new and upgraded transmission infrastructure that will help transform WA into a renewable energy powerhouse.

Developed through extensive modelling and forecasting, the SWIS Transmission Plan supports WA’s phase-out of coal-fired power by 2030 and enables widespread industrial electrification.

Alongside the SWIS Transmission Plan, energy transition initiatives in the Pilbara and private clean energy projects present significant opportunities for local businesses to pivot existing capability and/or develop new products or services to support the delivery of transmission infrastructure.

To support this transformation, the Department of Energy and Economic Diversification (DEED) is seeking feedback from industry to better understand current local capabilities in transmission manufacturing, identify gaps and ensure government support is optimally targeted.

We invite local industry representatives, businesses and organisations currently involved in, or interested in entering, transmission manufacturing supply chains to share their insights via the Citizen Space Consultation Hub.
