COVID-19 coronavirus: Controlled border

Information on WA’s controlled border arrangement, conditions of entry and quarantine.

WA’s Safe Transition Plan has been updated with a new hard border for approved travellers from Saturday 5 February, 2022.

Changes to hotel quarantine have come into effect for double dose vaccinated travellers who test negative to COVID-19.

Western Australia's border arrangement

WA is in a safe and sensible controlled border arrangement, based on public health advice.

The controlled border arrangement provides a system for safe travel into WA from interstate, depending on where travellers have come from and who they’ve had contact with in the 14 days prior to travel. They are also subject to conditions, including completing a G2G Pass (external link) declaration prior to entry.

WA’s Chief Health Officer continues to closely monitor community transmission in other jurisdictions, and will advise the WA Government if any changes to our borders are required to keep Western Australians protected.
