Making the most of this contract

Buying tips:

  • Before you buy, consider the end-of-life and/or recyclability of the goods you are purchasing.
  • Consider Category C (Redistribution Solutions) when purchasing from Category A (Furniture) or B (White Goods and Electrical Appliances).
  • Consider Category C in relation to the items you are replacing with your current purchase AND in relation to the end-of-useful-life of the items you are currently purchasing.
  • Buy from the standard range of furniture and finishes offered as changing finishes and colours can result in significant price increases.
  • All categories feature more than one supplier, so get quotes to ensure you are getting what you need for the best available price.
  • Volume discounts apply to most products. Be sure to discuss these with the Contractor to confirm final price details.
  • Make sure you have allowed plenty of time for your purchases to be delivered. Rushing an order and requiring shorter lead times may incur extra costs.

How do I buy?

Step by step buying process

  • Follow the Buying Rules when making your purchase.
  • When reaching out to contractors for pricing, clearly identify yourself as a CUA buyer.
  • Follow the contractor’s ordering instructions as per the Contractor Details section.
  • Ensure you are receiving your minimum discount (Category A (Furniture) and B (White Goods and Electrical Appliances)), and relevant volume discounts.
  • For Category C, ensure you understand the total cost and outcome of the Redistribution Solution you are seeking.

After I buy

Active contract management pays off

  • Check your invoices to ensure the correct price has been charged, before authorising payment.
  • Test the market on a regular basis to see what the other contractors on the CUA are offering.
  • Monitor service level compliance.
  • Document any issues as they arise even if they are resolved. This will assist in ongoing contractor performance management.
  • If you are unable to resolve issues, please contact the contract manager.
