Coastal Management Plan Assistance Program (CMPAP grants)

CMPAP grants support the Western Australian Planning Commission’s State Planning Policy 2.6 – State Coastal Planning Policy (SPP2.6), which guides land use and development along WA’s coast.

CMPAP Grants 2025/26 now open

Coastal land managers including local governments and Aboriginal corporations/land councils are invited to apply for grant funding to assist in planning and managing Western Australia’s iconic coastline.

Applications close 12pm (midday) Monday 14 April 2025.

Grants of up to $200,000 are available to fund:

  • coastal hazard risk management and adaptation plan (CHRMAP), including hazard assessment 
  • CHRMAP component(s) 
  • implementing actions of an adopted CHRMAP
  • review of CHRMAP 
  • coastal strategy (or review of existing)
  • foreshore management plan (or review of existing).

Projects that propose effective planning over coastal erosion hotspots, watchlist sites or inundation sites, will be favourably considered.
