Interpreting and translation services support

The Department provides free interpreting and translation services to help customers communicate with us.
Last updated:

You, or someone acting for you, can ask for language or communication support at any time.

Support is available for:

  • People who are Deaf or hard of hearing
  • People with disability that affects communication
  • Aboriginal people who speak English as an additional language
  • People from culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) backgrounds.

Using an interpreter or other support will not affect your access to services or your outcomes. We treat all information with respect and keep it confidential.

The Department also applies website accessibility standards. These standards help people who are blind or have low vision, or who use assistive technology, to access information on their own.

Together, these services help us provide fair, accessible and inclusive services for everyone, no matter how you contact us.
