Forms for registering a nominee on a contractor or in-house installing work licence (individual, partnership or company).

Privacy Collection Notice 

The Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety (LGIRS) collects personal information for the purpose of:

  • regulating the electrical industry in Western Australia;
  • processing your application;
  • administering licences and registrations; 
  • compliance and enforcement activities; 
  • engagement and educational activities; 
  • other regulatory functions. 

Your personal information is collected under the relevant provisions of the Electricity Act 1945

If you do not provide the requested information, LGIRS may be unable to process your application or provide the relevant services.

Your information may be disclosed where authorised or required by law. This may include an online licence search, a publicly available register, to other government agencies, regulatory bodies, emergency services, and other third parties.

1. You'll need

  • Nominee details
  • Existing licence number for the Electrical Contractor you’ll represent as Nominee
  • Current Electrical Licence number of the nominee
  • Provide evidence of successful completion of the following Nominee module/s, issued by an approved Registered Training Organisation within the last two years:
    • WAE200 – Electrical Operational Requirements OR EA103A Operational Legislative Requirements; 
    • AND WAE100 Electrical Requirements OR Provide details below of current or previous (within the past two years) Nominee appointment on an Electrical Contractor’s (EC) or In-House Installing Work (IH) Licence in WA OR Provide evidence of being an Inspector designated under Section 12 of the Energy Coordination Act 1994 within the past two years.

After your application has been submitted

Applications typically take 6–8 weeks to process. We’ll contact you if we need any additional information, and you’ll receive an email once your licence has been finalised.
