The Hon Janine Pritchard

The Hon Janine Pritchard holds a Bachelor of Laws (with Honours) and a Bachelor of Arts from the Australian National University in Canberra, a Graduate Diploma in Women's Studies from Murdoch University, and a Master of Laws (with Distinction) from the University of London.

Ms Pritchard worked as a professional assistant to the Solicitor General for Western Australia in 1991 and 1992. She was then a counsel and solicitor in the WA Crown Solicitor's Office (now the State Solicitor's Office) until her appointment to the bench in 2009. She practised primarily in administrative and constitutional law. She also lectured and tutored in law at various universities in WA during the same period.

Ms Pritchard was appointed as a Judge of the District Court of WA and as the Deputy President of the WA State Administrative Tribunal in June 2009. She was appointed to the Supreme Court of WA in 2010 and to the Court of Appeal in 2018.  In June 2019, Ms Pritchard was also appointed for a five-year term as the President of the State Administrative Tribunal.

Ms Pritchard retired from the Court in January 2025. She was appointed to the Law Reform Commission in December 2025 and elected chairperson of the Commission in January 2026.
