Kristian Dawson is the Deputy Director General Lands and Heritage, providing strategic direction for innovative and contemporary land and heritage management, policy, and programs across Western Australia. Kristian leads the development of strategies that shape communities across the State, advance meaningful reconciliation, prioritise sustainable and responsible management of land and places, and support economic diversification.

Over a career spanning two decades, Kristian has held several senior roles across the State Department and Mines and Petroleum portfolios, with a focus on the resource sector, infrastructure and economic development. Most recently, Kristian served as Executive Director, Resource Tenure at the Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration where he had responsibility for Western Australia’s mining and petroleum tenure.

Kristian is an experienced public sector leader with expertise in land tenure and regulatory decision making, and is passionate about delivering state Government priorities to achieve meaningful outcomes for Western Australian communities.
