Dr Sarah Pollock, Chief Mental Health Advocate

Dr Sarah Pollock was appointed the new Chief Mental Health Advocate for Western Australia following the retirement of the inaugural Chief Advocate, Debora Colvin. 

Dr Pollock brings a wealth of experience in research and advocacy for national mental health service provider Mind Australia and Wesley Mission Victoria, and most recently as Special Advisor to the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System. She holds a PhD based on work on service development projects in disability, homelessness, residential aged care for people with lifelong mental health and alcohol and drug problems.

Dr Pollock was appointed by the Minister for Mental Health for five years beginning 26 February 2021. During this time she will continue advocating to improve conditions and treatment for people in the mental health system.
