Dr. Ivey has significant legal, governance and strategic experience and a passion for education and consumer rights. She practised as a commercial disputes resolution lawyer for more than 25 years at national and Western Australian law firms, providing strategic advice on a wide range of commercial, contractual and regulatory matters. Dr. Ivey has also served for many years as a ministerial appointee to state-level professional associations, contributing to governance, stakeholder engagement and regulatory oversight. She has longstanding interests in education and consumer protection. Her experience includes serving as a chief supervisor of university examinations, lecturing at the University of California, Berkeley, and contributing to consumer safety initiatives as a member of the Consumer Product Safety Committee (WA).
