This Guide provides suppliers on government contracts that need to meet Aboriginal participation requirements with guidance on how to meet the employment or subcontracting targets.

This Guide outlines supplier obligations under the Aboriginal participation requirements that form part of the Aboriginal Procurement Policy.

The requirements apply to contracts valued $5 million and above in the following areas:

  • construction and maintenance
  • community services
  • education and training
  • public administration and finance
  • where a contract will be delivered predominantly to Aboriginal people or target the specific needs of Aboriginal people.

The Guide includes information to assist suppliers to meet the Aboriginal employment or Aboriginal business subcontracting targets included in applicable contracts.
