Last updated:

The contaminated sites auditor scheme operates in Western Australia within the legislative framework provided by the Contaminated Sites Act 2003, the Contaminated Sites Regulations 2006 and the National Environment Protection (Assessment of Site Contamination) Measure 1999.

The inaugural round of the National Harmonised Auditor Accreditation Process (NHAAP) commenced in August 2026 (the 2026 NHAAP). The information sheet, National Harmonised Auditor Accreditation Process 2026 provides guidance for environmental practitioners who wish to apply for accreditation in one of the primary accreditation jurisdictions participating in the 2026 NHAAP.

The Western Australian guideline is available at the link below. Please note, the national process supersedes the state guideline where any information is found to be different.
