This investigation was part of a long-term program to evaluate the groundwater resources of the Perth Basin.

The objectives were to investigate the hydrogeology of the Swan Coastal Plain in the northern Perth Basin, assess the groundwater resources of the area, and establish a network of groundwater observation bores for long-term monitoring.
