Complainants can use this template to provide the necessary notice. It is important to keep proof that the notice was sent. If the notice is sent by email, a copy of the sent email will be sufficient as proof.

The Building Services (Complaint Resolution and Administration) Regulations 2011 state that complainants must give the respondent written notice of their proposed complaint at least 14 days before contacting the Building Commissioner. 

This notice should include:

1. The details of the complaint.
2. The remedy that the complainant is seeking.
3. Any evidence that supports the complaint.
