This plan was developed in response to increasing water demand from coastal centres and the region’s rapidly growing mining sector, as well as to an increasing interest for more clarity around regulatory and assessment processes.
The plan confirms groundwater availability for water supplies to ports and coastal towns and provides a framework for licensing decisions and adaptive groundwater management across the region.
