As part of the allocation planning and licence assessment work for the South West groundwater areas, the department gathered information on the in situ social values and social water requirements of the Blackwood groundwater area.
Social water requirements are considered in the analysis of various groundwater allocation options, the outcome of which is establishment of an environmental water provision and an allocation limit in the allocation plan.
