The Interim State Hazard Plan – Release of Radioactive Material from a Nuclear Powered Warship (NPW) provides an overview of the emergency management arrangements for a release of radioactive material from an NPW in Western Australia (WA), in accordance with Australian Government requirements. The Plan contains information on prevention, preparedness, response and initial recovery.

The Fire and Emergency Services (FES) Commissioner is the Hazard Management Agency (HMA) for a release of radioactive material from an NPW under the Emergency Management Regulations 2006.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) is responsible for the development, implementation and revision of the Plan, in consultation with key stakeholders.
