The Aboriginal Advisory Council of Western Australia (AACWA) provides a unique opportunity to build genuine, respectful and reciprocal relationships between Aboriginal people and the State Government to achieve better economic, social and cultural outcomes for Aboriginal people living in Western Australia.
The advisory body is established under the Aboriginal Affairs Planning Authority Act 1972.
The Department of Premier and Cabinet (the Department) acts as AACWA’s Secretariat and provides members support on behalf of the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs (Minister), to whom AACWA reports to.
AACWA meetings are open to all government agencies who wish to engage in advice from the members.
Please note, there is a process to being accepted onto AACWA’s agenda and it is strongly recommended that you email the Secretariat team for further information.
