Working with the private sector

Communities is committed to creating vibrant and inclusive communities by increasing the supply and diversity of social housing in Western Australia through collaborations with the private sector.

From 2011-2022 we issued several ‘Call for Submissions’ that have received many innovative proposals resulting in the delivery of appropriate social and affordable housing.

Our WA Housing Strategy 2020-2030 commits to a six per cent net increase in social homes over ten years.

Call for Submissions for Social Housing

Our new Call for Submissions for Social Housing invites submissions from the property and construction industry to help us deliver liveable and sustainable grouped and multiple dwelling residential developments (of up to 30 homes) for social housing in Perth or regional Western Australia.

Communities can engage respondents in a variety of ways through this procurement process, including (but not limited to) off-the-plan purchases, land acquisition and construction contracts.

The private sector is encouraged to present submissions that represent value for money, achieve sustainable development outcomes, and will deliver innovative, well-designed housing.

Design briefs, construction specifications and preferred metropolitan locations are available for download from this website and as part of the Call for Submissions documentation.

Submissions can be made to Communities at any time until 2 July 2024.

Complete the online registration form below to obtain the Call for Submissions documentation which outlines the requirements and preferences for housing.
