The Western Australian (WA) Government will establish a $150 million Made in WA Energy Affordability Investment Program to develop the clean energy and critical minerals manufacturing sectors, enabling investment in energy efficient infrastructure and technologies and advanced manufacturing equipment and techniques, strengthening WA’s manufacturing capability and competitiveness. 

Through this competitive program, manufacturers will be able to access low interest loans up to $15 million to support development of key manufacturing sectors driving growth, improving productivity, and developing manufacturing scale and resilience in a rapidly evolving global market.

The Made in WA Energy Affordability Investment Program aligns with the WA Government’s commitment to developing our manufacturing sector to make more things locally, and deliver on WA’s clean energy future. Since 2025, more than $1.4 billion has been committed to initiatives aimed at developing and scaling manufacturing capability and capacity in WA.

The Made in WA Energy Affordability Investment Program will develop WA manufacturing capability in the clean energy, and critical minerals sectors by:

  • accelerating the adoption of energy efficient infrastructure, technology and advanced manufacturing equipment, technologies and techniques;
  • driving adoption of automation and smart production systems; 
  • implementing scalable advanced manufacturing and productivity enhancing solutions; and 
  • creating high quality jobs and future proofing the manufacturing workforce.
